Jason Paine is back at Stigmata Body Art

We missed him terribly as did our clientelle, he is not only a greatly talented tattoo artist but also a joy to work with and we are all thrilled to have him back in the fold after a brief leave of absence.
Over the years artists come and go but Jason's absence was felt more than most and we are happy he is back.

You can pop by to book Jason, Steve or Edz anytime or ask about a beautiful custom tattoo by any one of our amazingly talented tattooists.

Hi everyone,

Lots of news for this month so let's just jump right in.

We have had lots of amazing changes lately, Steve Plum and Eds have settled in as our in house tattoo artists, with Mike and Tamer doing guest spots that we will announce well in advance so that you can get in as soon as possible with them. Slots are filling up fast with all our amazing new talent, and clients just love the work and the great customer service these fabulous new additions to the Stigmata family are giving.
We are proud to have them, so come on down and book them while there are still time slots available in the near future.

Our piercing apprentice Meg is doing great, she still has a few piercings she needs to learn so call in or drop by to find out what she still needs. And if you're kind enough to allow her to learn on you with the supervision of our senior piercer Joan, you will get the piercing free and only have to pay the cost of jewelry.

We are also excited to announce that from May 1st - May 8th we have MAtt Cottrell a.k.a Hellspawn doing a guest spot at Stigmata. He is not only an outstanding piercer but one the most amazing scarification artists I have ever seen. So book now!!

Stigmata wants to give back to you, its failthful patrons, but unfortunately we cannot give a $100 gift certificate to everyone. So what we are doing is a draw for our April promotion.

So the Stigmata Crew are on the cover of this weeks Echo Reader's Choice Awards issue. We won for Best Place to Get Tattooed, Best Place to Get Pierced and our head tattoo artist Steve Baker won for Best Local Tattoo Artist. It is the first time in Echo's history that they have asked a tattoo studio to be on the cover. We had so much fun doing this photo shoot and want to thank you all for voting for us.

We may not be the biggest but we will always be the best!

We also just recieved news that again, Stigmata has won the Echo Readers Choice awards for the Tri-Cities for both Best Place to Get Tattooed and for Best Place to Get Pierced. Thank you all for your votes. And in the Readers choice awards issue coming out in aprox. two weeks time keep an eye out for the cover shot. For the first time in Echos history they are putting a tattoo studio on the cover

We're are sad to announce that Borden will be leaving Stigmata as of September 30th, he's heading out east to be with his lovely wife. We'll miss him greatly. If you're in the middle of a piece, or just looking to get something done be sure to book your appointments soon!

Also, microdermals are now available!! Drop by the shop to talk to our staff regarding any questions or to get one.

Guest Piercer

Aug 25-26 Stigmata welcomes guest piercer Matt Cottrell (Hellspawn).

Along with standard piercings Matt will also be offering scarification and microdermals. You can check out his portfolio on facebook here.

June Update

Stigmata has several exciting announcements for June;

Firstly, we’d like to welcome the newest addition to our team, Craig Lewis who is joining us from Adrenaline (Toronto, ON). Craig has been tattooing for four years; specializing in large bold custom work with a particular interest in neo-traditional Japanese style. You can drop by the shop to check out his portfolio (which will be available online shortly) and book a consultation.

Renovations at the shop are nearly complete, the final addition being an all new display case for our new selection of jewelry. As a thank you for 10 great years we’ve lowered the cost of both jewelry and piercings- so come by and check it out!

We’re also inviting all local artists to send submissions our way to be displayed in the shop. Samples can be e-mailed to info@stigmatabodyart.com.

Stigmata will be hosting the Health Educators Blood Borne Pathenogens Cross Contamination Prevention and Sterilization Course in the following months, if you're interested in taking this course please contact us at the above e-mail.

Anthon, who has been with Stigmata since 2001, will be leaving the shop. We're sad to see you go but know you'll do great!

Renovations

Stigmata is currently closed for renovations, we will be reopening on Wednesday May 20th.
Although the bulk of the changes will be completed this weekend there is still more to come through the next few months!

As part of the renovations we've brought in a great new selection of jewelery. Be sure to stop by and check out the changes!

Seasons Greetings from Stigmata

Just a quick note from all of us at Stigmata regarding our holiday hours!

Wed. December 24th we will be open from 12-3pm for piercings and merchandise only (Gift certificates are available for any of you last minute shoppers!).

We will be closed Christmas and Boxing Day (25th and 26th), and will resume regular hours Saturday the 27th.

We'll also be closed New Years Day.

2009 is the beginning of our 10th year in Guelph, we'd like to take a moment to thank all of you for making Stigmata the best shop in the Tri-Cities area. We're looking forward to meeting new clientelle this year and will continue striving to maintain our high standards of service.
